July is by far the hottest month for the mountains and yet even in the ‘hottest’ month you will still love the temperatures which are rarely above the low 80s. On the hottest days you may see an afternoon thunderstorm or two; however these usually pass over rather quickly. Locals have an old saying, “If you walk outside and you do not like the current weather, wait about thirty minutes and it will more than likely change that fast” and this popular saying is very true. The weather changes rapidly in our region. This cannot be more true than in the winter time. Often we receive weather forecast reports for a few inches of snow but when the storm moves in, instead we get an amazing amount of gorgeous white flakes from heaven. Our guests love skiing and snowboarding in natural snow during and after these types of winter storms. Annually, we receive anywhere from 90 to 120 feet of natural snow during the winter season.
