Sugar Mountain Ski Resort NC

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort NC is the largest ski area in North Carolina as it offers 115 acres of skiable terrain. It is located right in Banner Elk, atop Sugar Mountain NC, overlooking Village of Sugar Mountain NC where you will find many of our great Sugar Mountain Real Estate Rentals. They offer 20 slopes for Snow Skiing in NC and snowboarding and the resort also has a 10,000-square-foot ice skating rink and snow tubing runs. Beech Mtn Ski

This infamous ski resort and mountain peak is located atop the highest unincorporated town on the East Coast and one of the tallest mountains in the Appalachian Mountain chain. Beech Mtn Ski offers high elevation Snow Skiing in NC and snowboarding, as well as ice skating and snow tubing. Also, the Town of Beech Mountain operates a sledding hill nearby. If you love long range, panoramic views then you need to take a trip up to Beech Mtn Ski Resort in the wintertime. The views are outstanding from atop its peaks, especially during this time of year when the leaves have fallen and you can see for miles and miles. Beech Mtn Ski is just a short distance from our Banner Elk Rentals.

Hawksnest Tubing Park

Hawksnest Tubing Park is the largest snow tubing park in the state of North Carolina. There are multiple tubing areas within the tubing park, all of which are different with multiple lanes. This resort was once a ski area, and if you visited the area a decade or two ago you would probably remember it as a small, but thriving, resort that offered skiing and golf. Hawksnest transformed itself into a record breaker when the tiny resort established the largest park for Ziplines in NC and largest snow tubing park in the state. Hawksnest is a bit further away from our Sugar Mountain Cabins than Sugar Ski Area and Beech Mtn Ski Resort; however, it is still worth visiting for the massive snow tubing areas that it offers in the winter.

Appalachian Ski Mountain

App Ski Mtn is located in Blowing Rock and is a bit further away from our Banner Elk Rentals than the other resorts that offer Snow Skiing in NC and other winter sports; however, App Ski Mtn is still a local favorite and a favorite among some that visit the Banner Elk NC Vacation Spots. App Ski Mtn is a great place to learn as it is the home of the renowned French Swiss Ski College, one of the oldest ski schools in the country. Many vacationers have visited here, stayed in our Banner Elk Real Estate Rentals and enjoyed learning at Appalachian Ski Mountain. App Ski Mtn is also a favorite among snowboarders as it has the nicest and best terrain parks for boarding. There is also an ice skating rink located at the resort.
